French official to head IRENA

French ministerial official Helene Pelosse has been elected to head the new International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). Pelosse is currently deputy head of staff in the private office of the French minister for ecology, energy, sustainable development. The Agency will be headquartered in Abu Dhabi will advise governments on technical and financial issues linked to renewable energy and promote such technology in developing countries.
